In order to define the suitability of a product for AD we offer analyses of the substrate before and/or after digestion at our in-house laboratory. We measure a large set of parameters on the substrates such as pH, Total solids, Volatile solids, COD, related soluble fractions, Alkalinity, Ammonia content, total nitrogen and total carbon. For more advanced applications, we also provide measurement of Phosphorous, Iron and Volatile Fatty acids.
Additional analyses such as heavy metals concentrations or specific compounds can be carried out on demand with our laboratory partners.
Biogas potential test or biomethane potential test (BMP) indicates the biogas yield from any kind of organic substrate. Results from BMP tests are crucial for biogas plant owners where they can be used to provide relevant information on new substrate and optimization of the biogas production. Also relevant for substrate providers, BMP tests defines the substrate and its benefits for biogas production.
BMP tests are made in batch mode at mesophilic and thermophilic temperature range. Batch mode methods offers the opportunity to run a large amount of tests simultaneously so that results accuracy is significant and that it is possible to test for the same customer several substrate combinations at a time. Full tests usually last up to 90 days.
Where BMP batch tests provide efficient and fast assessment of the maximum potential yield of the substrate, advanced continuous AD at lab-scale can point out kinetic of the AD, synergistic effects for co-digestion and possible inhibition on the long term. Our laboratory is equipped with several continuous stirred tank reactors (CSTR) so that long term tests can be run at the same time for comparative studies.
Our specially design volumetric biogasmeters give high accuracy for biogas production and combined with gas chromatography methodÂ it is possible to determine exact amount of methane and other gas present in the raw gas (CO2, N2, O2).
At initial stage in projects or during research projects it is important to have a good definition of the potential of a substrate or similar substrates for AD process.
